Tour the Russell Young Farm Bed and Breakfast

THE GATHERING ROOM

Melt into the leather of our immense sectional sofa as it curves around our great stone hearth. Curl up in a plush armchair, grab a throw blanket if it’s chilly, and we’ll start a cozy fire for you. With a great selection of music playing quietly in the background, the gathering room is a great place to unwind after the day’s adventures across central Vermont, or to curl up with a book, tap into the wifi with your laptop or smart phone, or just kick back and connect with each other. Breakfast is served at your own private table each morning between 8:00am-9:00 AM. If an earlier or later time works better for you, just let us know ahead of time.

“Misted Fern” colored walls, exposed original wood beams, and abundant light from the many windows make the Gathering Room a peaceful retreat any time of day. Across the room on the sideboard, Glenn always has something homemade and yummy to snack on, and fresh brewed coffee, tea, or cocoa is available 24/7 from the Keurig machine. We have a well-stocked DVD library in the armoire as well as games and a great collection of books in the room.

THE SUNROOM

Located on the second floor at the top of the stairs, the sunroom faces south and is a warm, wonderful quiet place to retreat with a book, magazine or game—or just to catch a nap in a secluded nook, or snuggle with your sweetie.

THE PORCH

A great spot for morning coffee or evening star gazing , our expansive front porch features comfy Adirondack chairs and offers incredible views of the surrounding mountains such as Mt. Abe, Mt. Ellen, and the famous Camel’s Hump.  The porch overlooks our half acre pond and the beautiful perennial gardens where you are sure to see hummingbirds and butterflies feeding in abundance.

OTHER OUTDOOR AREAS

As you stroll from the Porch to the Hot Tub House, you’ll pass the Hammock, and the Two Person Swing: both are wonderful spots to spend some time relaxing and looking at the mountains, watching the ever-changing cloudscape, listening to the birds, or gazing skyward to the moon and stars.
